The Simpsons: Hit & Run is an inimitable hit that remains an irreplaceable classic today, both due to its never-before-replicated gameplay and Futurama elements rolled into one game. Leave behind GTA IV, Ocarina of Time, and 2018’s God of War revival – there’s only one title worthy of being included on any best-of list: this.
Radical capitalized on GTA III’s popularity following The Simpsons: Road Rage’s success to create The Simpsons: Hit & Run. Now fans of Futurama hope that fans are doing just the same with Futurama!
What is The Simpsons: Hit & Run with Futurama Mod?
Slurm Team’s three-year project explores what happens when Hit & Run meets futuristic settings, making use of custom 3D models made specifically for it in Futurama setting. It is a conversion mod for original Hit & Run that attempts to replicate its gameplay within Futurama setting with all original 3D models created from scratch by hand – something not currently achievable through traditional Hit & Run games alone.
The Simpsons: Hit & Run’s trailer shows controllable versions of Fry, Leela and Bender as well as Tinny Tim, Angleyne and NPC Cygnoids from Tiny Tim to Tiny Tina; vehicles and classic outfits including Fry’s astronaut suit are seen here too – which may only be scratching the surface(Zoid).
When Does Futurama: Hit & Run Out Premiere?
Slurm Team announced their demo will be out sometime between late August and early September; an exact release date remains unspecified. No details were offered as to what features would make up this test run; most likely we can assume a basic level will feature as we don’t yet know the game’s narrative – though Mom might likely play some sort of villain role!
Donut Team’s Hermes, Amy Wong, Calculon and Nibbler character models may soon appear for character quests. If anyone can assist, 3D character modellers and voice performers would be welcomed onto their team; Simpsons Hit & Run may prove challenging at times for Futurama: Hit & Run fans but that shouldn’t stop us pursuing our goal of Hit & Run perfection!
