Stalker 2 is in development. In 2018, GSC Game World revealed intentions to publish the game in 2022. Since the Ukraine war started, Stalker 2 players have questioned the game’s viability.

Russian intervention in Ukraine has greatly affected Ukrainian life. GSC Game World isn’t immune to Ukraine’s problems. A June video dev diary detailed how individual developers were affected, including the accounts of some GSC Game World programmers who joined Ukraine’s military. GSC Game World remains committed to Stalker 2 despite concerns for the creators’ safety.
GSC Game World said the game’s development will continue “after the triumph” Xbox later confirmed Stalker 2’s 2023 release. Given the present violence in Ukraine, this was questioned. GSC Game World declared 2023 as its aim. Stalker 2 hasn’t been delayed.
GSC responded to a claim that Stalker 2 might be released around 2024 or 2025. GSC Game World called the report “absurd” and said it doesn’t react to rumours and gossip.
