If left filthy, a bed topper may become a haven for mites, bugs, germs, and other pests. Don’t believe us. “The typical individual sweats 22 gallons a year while sleeping, so a clean atmosphere is crucial,” says Warren.

MattressNextDay CEO Martin Seeley says: “Memory foam, feathers, and latex are popular mattress toppings. Unclean mattress toppers may cause skin discomfort and odour if not cleaned regularly.”

After leaving your mattress topper with cleanser and soda, sweep it. Jonathan says, “Run the hoover over the mattress topper and shake it to remove any dust or grime.”
