Gotham Knights team at WB Montreal explains how the open world works and does away with the traditional day/night cycle in a fresh take on gameplay.
Gotham Knights is the next open-world crime-fighting game by WB Montreal. The Game has pushed forward its release date, which is nearly unheard of in the present video game business, when so many creators have to tell fans of a launch delay. WB Games Montreal has shown more of Gotham Knights as its release date nears.
Gotham Knights’ 10-minute gameplay preview revealed its open setting and how it differs from Arkham’s Gotham. First, Game Director Geoff Ellenor outlines how players may explore much of game’s open environment straight away. A brief glance at the map shows that Gotham is divided into five districts, with most of them explorable early on.
Gotham Knights: Storyline
Each open-world location has its own villains, activities, and people. Gotham Knights won’t have a regular day/night cycle, thus fans of daytime Gotham may be disappointed. Players will only see the sun when they return to Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, and Batgirl’s HQ, the Belfry.
The game has no day/night cycle; instead, each night brings fresh activities and crimes to combat. These evenings establish the storylines of Gotham Knights’ villains, who provide the player recurring tasks they may accomplish or ignore. Each prominent villain will have their own Villain Night, when they conduct their most evil plots. With Batman missing from Gotham Knights, several of the city’s villains will certainly cause mayhem. WB Games Montreal says a player may kill a villain during Villain Night if they have enough knowledge. The Game releases on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 21, 2022.
