Employee of The Month Cast and Plot
For years, Zack Bradley has been working at the neighbourhood “Super Club” as a box boy. His free time is spent with coworkers Lon Neilson, Iqbal Raji, and Russell Porpis-Gunders.
Zack is polite, popular, and supportive despite his laziness. Vince Downey has been Employee of the Month 17 times. He’s pompous and harsh to his coworkers, notably box guy Jorge Mecico.
Zack and Vince compete for Amy Renfro’s affection when she’s hired. Zack learns from Russell that she slept with the Employee of the Month at her former job. Amy is repulsed when Vince makes a move on her during dinner. He’s oblivious to Amy’s feelings and keeps chasing her. Zack starts working on time and harder, challenging Vince for the crown. He dates Amy in Super Club.
Within a few days, with Vince still winning the daily star, Zack understands getting employee of the month is not so easy. Zack finds his flow with Iqbal’s help and wins the next day, to Vince’s horror. Zack’s string of stars is disrupted by Vince, even sneaking into his house to change the clocks; the sabotage causes him to arrive a minute late the next day, but with Iqbal’s help, Zack’s attendance card suggests he arrived on time, leading the plan to fail.
Zack takes Iqbal’s softball shift against Maxi-Mart. Leaving to play, Iqbal gets dismissed. Zack’s friends are frustrated by his new attitude and think he’s turning into Vince to get Amy’s sex. She overhears Zack’s true intents and is appalled, comparing him to her former partner, another Employee of the Month with whom she had sex but couldn’t handle his attitude, so she asked for a move.
Zack and Vince are tied. Zackleaves, gets Iqbal’s job back, and apologises to Lon, Iqbal, and Russell on the day of the tie-breaking competition. Zack says he wants to win the competition for pride, not recognition.
Zack, Lon, Iqbal, and Russell arrive while the store manager is about to announce Zack’sdeparture. Russell bribed HR with a Butterfinger. Zack apologises to Amy and tells her she’s made him a better guy. Vince complains, but the fastest checkout battle goes on. First-place finisher gets Employee of the Month.
Vince beats Zack by seconds, but during the award ceremony, the security guard displays a surveillance video of Vince putting store merchandise behind his back without scanning them. Vince’s receipt is shorter and costs less than it should, according to the store’s assistant manager. Videos indicate Vince hasn’t rung up products all year, costing the store thousands of dollars. Zack wins the challenge and reunites with Amy after Vince’s dismissal.
Vince is on probation at Maxi-Mart after being dismissed from Super Club. Jorge’s treats Vince as he did. Jorge agrees to drive Vince to the bus stop while they’re both in his new automobile. He drives Vince to the bus station but avoids Vince’s ankle monitor.
