New Slam Dunk Movie Trailer Unveils all-new Cast
New Slam Dunk Movie Trailer: Over the weekend, Toei Animation’s YouTube livestream of the new teaser garnered over two million views. THE FIRST SLAM DUNK opens in Japanese theatres on December 3.
The clip shows dynamic and creative cuts from the new Slam Dunk film, which revamps both music and images. The new Shohoku High School Basketball Team voice actors are:
- Subaru Kimura (Todo Aoi, JUJUTSU KAISEN) as Hanamichi Sakuragi
- Shin’ichirō Kamio (Makoto Katai, Komi Can’t Communicate) as Kaede Rukawa;
- Kenta Miyake (All Might, My Hero Academia) will play the captain of the Shohoku Basketball Team, Takenori Akagi
- Shugo Nakamura (Gin Gagamaru, BLUELOCK) cast as Ryota Miyagi;
- Jun Kasama (Hiroshi Kuchiki, Ahiru no Sora) in the role of Hisashi Mitsui

New Slam Dunk Movie Trailer: The Birthday and 10-FEET will perform Slam Dunk’s opening and closing themes, with Takuma and Satoshi Takebe composing the film’s soundtrack. Yota Tsuruoka and Koji Kasamatsu directed the film’s sound.
THE FIRST SLAM DUNK film director and scriptwriter Takehiko Inoue (Vagaboond) is also participating. He works with character designer and animation director Yasuyuki Ebara, CG director Daiki Nakazawa, and producer Yūta Ogura.
The 1990–1996 Shonen Jump manga by is the basis for the film. It was a “Golden Age” Shonen Jump title. 101 anime episodes broadcast from 1993 to 1996. Four anime films have been made from the franchise: two in 1994 and two in 1995, the final in July 1995. Hanamichi Sakuragi, a red-haired delinquent, is the protagonist of Slam Dunk. Sakuragi is depressed again after his last heartache, until he meets his current infatuation, basketball-obsessed Haruko Akagi.
The First Slam Dunk opens in Japan on December 3 in over 40 IMAX theaters, with Dolby Cinema screenings beginning on December 10. The picture concludes Toei Animation’s successful 2022 film slate.
