Assassin’s Creed Mirage: No mirage! The unveiling is on 9/10. In February, Bloomberg reported that Ubisoft was working on a smaller, stealth-focused Assassin’s Creed game alongside their larger Assassin’s Creed Infinity project (likely an online game of some kind). A leaker recently said the second Assassin’s Creed game would be named Assassin’s Creed Mirage. We know now.
Ubisoft verified Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Ubisoft verified the leak with a tweet and an image: “Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next Assassin’s Creed game.” They usually leak, and this one occurred with little over a week till Ubisoft Forward, where the Assassin’s Creed Mirage announcement is due. That’s September 10.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier claims his source isn’t in perfect agreement with the current leak, but we can say the game is set in Baghdad and stars Basim Ibn Ishaq (aka Loki) and presumably did start as Valhalla DLC, as Schreier revealed in February.
Both reports agree that Mirage will centre on stealth, not RPG-style levels and speech options. The teaser image’s hooded assassin style fits, if so. It’s hilarious, though: Good composition, but he’s the least-masked assassin ever. How is no one looking at the flying man?
Mirage will be at Ubisoft Forward (opens in new tab). We may learn about Assassin’s Creed Infinity during the event, but Ubisoft said Mirage is next. Now that it has a new AC game, it may keep quiet about Infinity for now. More Infinity information will surface in time.
