iPhone 8 Review: Apple’s iPhone 8 wasn’t the top-of-the-line iOS phone when it came out, but it’s still an useful and fast pick with a conventional home button and Touch ID fingerprint sensor. It’s as powerful as the iPhone X at a lesser price, which is amazing years after both phones were released.
Consider Apple’s iPhone 12 line, which contains four phones. The iPhone X is three years newer but also more expensive. iPhone 8 prices have reduced since debut.
iPhone 8 Review: When Apple unveils new iPhones, it usually drops outdated devices, but the iPhone 8 has survived uninjured and enjoys iOS 14’s new features. iPhone 8 Review: Design

The phone’s design was the most dramatic in three years, but don’t get too excited.
Apple’s latest iPhone has a glass back instead than the aluminium used since the iPhone 5, allowing for wireless charging.
In terms of size, shape, and design, the iPhone 8 is essentially identical to the iPhone 7, 6S, and 6.
The iPhone 8 is slightly larger, broader, and taller than the iPhone 7, but you won’t notice. Similar… extremely similar.
It’s 10g heavier than the iPhone 7, which is apparent, but we could still comfortably hold it in our hand.
iPhone 8 Review: Display

On paper, the iPhone 8 display is identical to its predecessor’s. Both have 4.7-inch IPS displays with 750 x 1334 resolution and 326ppi pixel density.
It’s the same size and resolution as 2014’s iPhone 6.
While this may seem like the same old narrative of Apple refusing to boost specs, it has added True Tone display technology to the screen.
This monitors the ambient light around the phone and calibrates the screen to match. Stronger colours and contrast make the display seem better than previous iPhone displays.
True Tone and non-True Tone iPhones show some improvement, but the iPhone 8’s display lacks the QHD+ AMOLED display of the Galaxy S8.
iPhone 8 Review: Camera
- A good, simple-to-use camera with 12 MP resolution.

On paper, the iPhone 8’s 12MP back camera is identical to its predecessor’s.
Same f/1.8 aperture, 5X digital zoom, optical image stabilisation, and Live Photos as iPhone 7.
The phone can capture 4K video at 60fps and 240fps slow motion at 1080p (Full HD) rather than 720p.
While enhancements are always appreciated, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 have very identical cameras.
The iPhone 8 camera’s simplicity of use is a positive.
iPhone 8 Review: Battery Life
- Will only last a day with attentive use on a single charge.
- Wireless charging is quick and simple, but it takes longer.
- Fast charging is more beneficial but necessitates additional expenditures.
Apple never discusses battery capacity, and all it has said about the iPhone 8 is that battery life is equivalent to the iPhone 7.
Given the iPhone 8’s greater processing power, it was unexpected and disappointed that battery life wasn’t improved.
Now that the launch dust has cleared and smartphones have been released, it appears like Apple had a valid reason for not commenting on the phone’s battery capacity.
The phone’s teardowns show a 1,821mAh battery. The iPhone 7 has a 1,960mAh battery.
Even having a smaller battery, the iPhone 8’s battery life is similar to the iPhone 7. The iPhone 7’s camera didn’t wow us, however.
On other days, we had to charge our phone before leaving the workplace to make it until night.
