Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4 soon releasing on Nintendo Switch

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4: Krome Studios announced Ty 4 for Nintendo Switch. Krome Studios revealed for Nintendo Switch. Fans of the boomerang-throwing marsupial mascot have been treated well in recent years with remasters of older Ty games. Soon, they’ll be able to add the fourth mainstream title, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4: Bush Rescue Returns, to that list.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4 stands out for many reasons. Released in 2015, ten years after Ty 3, it eschewed the 3D gameplay the series was renowned for in favour of side-scrolling 2D gameplay. The original game was PC-only, the first not to be distributed on consoles, but the remaster will alter that.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4: About the game

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4: Bush Rescue Returns will have 40 levels set in the series’ Australian Outback, according to Krome. They’ll unlock 11 varieties of Boomerangs and over 20 skins for Ty and his Bush Rescue teammates. Adventure; Time Attack; Turkey Chase; and Danger Arena will be available.

Bush Rescue Returns will include English voiceovers, updated cutscenes, remastered and new audio tracks, and English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese in-game text choices. These should give new and returning fans something to look forward to while making Ty 4 more accessible.

Bush Rescue Returns seems to be a digital-only Nintendo Switch game, although earlier Ty remasters had multiplatform releases, so Ty 4 may too. Krome teased that fans would have a “opportunity to get involved” and will provide specifics before the end of the year.

This week celebrates the 20th anniversary of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger’s release. With previous games getting improvements, many fans want a fresh entry. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 5 is doable, but it would require a considerably greater budget. Bush Rescue Returns’ performance should help Krome decide whether a new game is worth developing.
