Marvel Reveals Thunderbolt Release Date as Summer 2024 during Guardians of the Galaxy promotional tour in 2014 director James Gunn expressed interest in making a Thunderbolts movie; studio president Kevin Feige granted permission for him to film one if it could prove commercially successful.

After having directed The Suicide Squad and HBO Max series Peacemaker, Gunn may feel as if his dream to direct superhero films is complete, yet Marvel plans on moving ahead with this project in 2023 without him involved as part of its plans.
At Marvel’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, not much was revealed regarding this project; however, its summer 2024 release date (July 26) and Jake Schreier of “Frank & Robot” fame was confirmed to direct it were made official announcements.
Thunderbolts: Gang of Outcast
Preliminarily it appears as though the Thunderbolts are an outcast gang funded either by the United States government or some unknown organization (H.A.M.M.E.R?). Not every member may necessarily be bad guys though as, like with Suicide Squad operations, many might need dangerous missions completed that aren’t always honorable or transparently legal.
Hannah John-Ghost will soon join Julia Louis-Contessa Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine; Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent; Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova; Daniel Bruhl as Zemo, Olga Kurylenko’s Taskmaster Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster Olga Kurylenko as Yellowjacket Corey Stoll Yellowjacket Hawkeye to round off this cast. My expectation is that an entirely new government figure may emerge to take his position; I don’t claim any knowledge on that front either!
Characters Adopted From Comic Book
Luke Cage, Moonstone, Elektra, Venom Bullseye Bullseye Wrecking Crew Ghost Rider have all seen adaptations from comic books in various forms over time; among many others. Due to current circumstances we can only speculate regarding who makes up Thunderbolts squad; given Marvel’s history setting things into motion subtly it wouldn’t surprise me if some or all of performers listed above made an appearance during show time.
Conclusion
Production on Thunderbolts will reportedly commence during the summer of 2024 when its scheduled release will occur. Unfortunately details regarding when and how script will be completed or which characters will make an appearance remain unknown at present.
