Sony will host an Xperia-focused gaming event on September 12

And we wondered if we'd see a gaming phone or accessories

The big announcement was the Xperia Stream.

The big announcement was the Xperia Stream.

The Xperia Stream is a cooling system and streaming platform for the Sony Xperia 1 IV

being powered by the phone’s USB-C port and fitting onto the handset like a case.

The cooling system is a fan whose speed can be controlled by a Game Enhancer programme.

In our Xperia 1 IV review, we observed the phone's low sustained performance.

The bottom of Sony's new device has four ports: a 3.5mm port, an HDMI port, an Ethernet port, and a USB-C port.

This means you can easily play on a monitor or TV while keeping the phone charged, but the video output is limited to 1080p/120Hz.
